Long Lake Boathouse

The Long Lake Flatwater Training Centre Society (LLFWTC) is working to raise funds to build a new boathouse for rowing and paddling sports at Long Lake, Nanaimo.  With the support of the City of Nanaimo, we’re taking a phased approach with the first priority being boat storage.

LLFWTC (made up of members of NCKC and the Nanaimo Rowing Club) has developed a plan for a boathouse at Long Lake that we’re proud of and believe will be extremely successful for years to come. NCKC and NRC have worked together for over 20 years and are excited to build a joint facility that will benefit the whole community.

The new boathouse will be wheelchair accessible, provide year-round boat storage and training areas for NCKC and NRC, offer enhanced public space plus heated public washrooms and change rooms. It will also enhance swimming, fishing, picnicking, paddling, rowing and boating activities for families and the community.

Our dream is to make the Long Lake Boathouse a focal point and source of pride for our city and to make Nanaimo a premier training and racing destination for paddling and rowing.
