The Nanaimo Canoe and Kayak Club’s recreational membership (single or family) allows members free use of outrigger canoes for up to six people (OC1, OC2, OC4, OC6), sprint kayaks for up to four people (K1, K2, K4), surfskis, single and double recreational kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and other club equipment during member drop-in sessions and scheduled practices for their group or team. Members also have the opportunity to participate in recreational practices, training and conditioning classes, club events and social activities throughout the year. Additionally, sprint kayak athletes who choose to train have access to world class coaching staff and competition in regional, provincial and national racing events. Yearly NCKC membership fees (April 1 to March 31) are $200 per person and $240 per family and are due on April 1st every year. Pro-rated fall/winter membership fees (September 1 to March 31 only) are $100 per person and $120 per family. Members who wish to complete their registration online, can use our online form for membership, program selection, insurance and fees.

A Note on Insurance
For insurance purposes, members of the Nanaimo Canoe & Kayak Club must also become members of Canoe Kayak BC (CKBC)*. CKBC membership fees are covered for athletes enrolled in our sprint kayak training programs. All other members can purchase a CKBC recreational membership ($9 for adults and $7 for children under 18).
*If you are a competitive Outrigger and wish to compete in Canadian Outrigger Association (CORA) sanctioned races, additional insurance is required through them. CORA registration ($25) can be completed at: www.canadianoutrigger.com/membership/become-a-member.
