Athlete Profile

Cameron Antifave male athlete of the year

Cameron at the 2014 Provincial Training Camp where he received Canoe Kayak BC’s U15 Male Athlete of the Year Award.

Name: Cameron Antifave.
Age: 15
Started Paddling: I started paddling when I was 12 after I went on a field trip to NCKC with my grade five teacher. Ihave been paddling ever since. I started paddling because I have always loved the water. I waterski and wakeboard in the summer, and I fish in the winter.
As a Competitor: My favorite distance is 1000m. Anything can happen in that race, so much can change in a few seconds. I’ve competed in all the K1 races, commonly the: 200m, 1000m, and 6000m.
Personal Best: My best result was at the BC Championships/National qualifier regatta in Kamloops this summer, where I placed second in K1 1000m.
Goals: My immediate goal in paddling is to make it to the finals at Nationals this coming year, and place in the top three. I also want to make the BC Team and go to Westerns in 2015. My long term goals in kayaking are to make the Canadian Junior National Team, and paddle for a university in Canada or the USA.
